Eating Eggs

$12.00

One dozen rainbow eggs collected fresh from our heritage breed flocks, suitable for all your culinary needs.

These individual dozens are available for PICKUP ONLY from our homestead in Morongo Valley, California.

Our dozens include an aesthetically striking combination of shell colors, sizes, and patterns, ranging from blues, greens, pinks and purples, to deep mahogany browns with dramatic speckling. Every egg is unique, a result of the heritage breeds and crosses we raise for quality, not production.

Our hens and roosters are raised together in custom-built coops shaded by passionfruit vines and tombstone roses, and surrounded by mulberry and pepper tress, lavender, sage, and native creosote shrubs. They are fed a diet of high quality organic feed, fresh fruits and vegetables, mealworms, organic whole grains, and dried kelp. The result is thick, highly pigmented egg shells, richly flavored yolks, and firm whites.

Packaging & Storing

We collect eggs from our flocks multiple times per day for optimal cleanliness and freshness. Once collected, we hand-wash them per California law, and pack them in black paper egg cartons made from 100% recycled material. All eggs are packed and sold within one week of lay!

Eggs should be stored in a refrigerator, where they can be kept for up to 6 weeks. While it’s true that unwashed fresh eggs do not need refrigeration, we are required to wash all eggs prior to sale, and thus they must be refrigerated to maintain freshness.
